The postgraduate students at the Department of Psychology organized a program entitled, "Be Dutiful to Parents to Enjoy Your Life", under the supervision of Dr. Suzan bint Sadaqah Basyuni, the Associate Professor of Psychological Health and Counseling at the Department of Psychology. It is an awareness and recreational program that was activated in:
- The 11th Intermediate and 4th Secondary School of Qur'an Memorization in Makkah Al-Mukarramah on Monday, 11 Rajab, 1440 A.H.
- The Home for the Elderly in Makkah Al-Mukarramah on Wednesday, 13 Rajab, 1440 A.H.
The aim of the program is to enhance the status of the elderly, highlight their role in society, increase awareness of the issues of older persons, explain how to deal with them simply, participate in instilling mechanisms for dealing with older persons, promote a culture of volunteerism by contributing to making visits to the elderly, and achieve community participation among the different groups in the community: the university, the school, and the home for the elderly.
