On Tuesday, 28 Jumada Al-Thani, 1440 A.H., under the auspices of Her Excellency Dr. Sarah Omar Al-Khuli, UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs, the Deanship of Scientific Research, represented in the Pharmaceutical Science Research Center and Medical Science Research Center, organized the "Second Scientific Research Assembly of Medical Colleges". The assembly took place in the front medicine auditorium, at the headquarters of the medical colleges at Al-Abdiyyah.
The first session discussed 3 researches in the field of dentistry. The session was followed by a Q and A exchange in which the researchers replied to the questions and comments of the audience about the researches and their results. In this session, the Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Development and Quality, Dr. Hanadi Bihairi, pointed out that the event aims at spreading the culture of scientific research and exchanging successful experiences to promote scientific interaction and communication among the medical colleges.
Dr. Bihairi also noted that the program seeks to find ways of uncovering research overlap and promoting positive cooperation, and encourage students to present their most important achievements of excellence of scientific papers or programs, such as documentary videos and others, which earned them special prizes.
Furthermore, Dr. Sarah Omar Al-Khuli, UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs, stressed that achieving progress is dependent on research development and competition in the field concerned. She also commended the support extended by His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, and the efforts of the Deanship of Scientific Research and its impact on refining research expertise and knowledge.
At the end of the first session, the College of Dentistry was honored for obtaining the first place, and ranked the highest at the level of Saudi universities in the exam of the Commission for Health Specialties. In turn, Dr. Sarah Tahir, the Vice Dean of the College of Dentistry, gave thanks for this appreciation and honor. The second session was resumed by continuing the presentation of medical researches in the fields of pharmacy, nutrition, nursing, and medicine. In addition, the assembly held an exhibition that displayed a number of publications and posters that presented the researches and their most important topics and results.
The event was attended by a large number of leaders, and female academic staff and students, in particular, Dr. Hala Al-Amoudi, the Dean of the University Studies for Girls, and the vice deans of the medical colleges.
