Under the patronage of His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, the preliminary qualifiers for the scientific debate contest of the Tenth Scientific Forum at Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) were held at the Support Hall this morning as part of the events of the Tenth Scientific Forum for University Students. The primary aim of the contest, launched by the Deanship of Student Affairs with the participation of 20 colleges of various educational majors, was to refine their skills and celebrate their literary innovations.
The scientific debate schedule included 6 contests among 12 colleges debating a diverse range of topics. Al-Leith University College, Makkah Community College, the College of Judicial Studies and Regulations, the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture, the College of Business Administration, and the College of Social Sciences made it to the semi-final. The second phase will resume tomorrow and the final phase will be held on Thursday.
The Vice President for Educational Affairs, Prof. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Suruji, said that the events will be held over 12 days and that the Tenth Scientific Forum was held as part of the university's support for the research, innovative, technical, and scientific streams of its male and female students, pointing out that the scientific debates contest will be held with five main themes comprised of 44 scientific fields. The forum is aspiring to witness the largest ever participation in the history of the forum by giving as many students as possible the opportunity to compete in the scientific debates.
