UQU Presents its Digital Experience in Oracle OpenWorld Middle East, in the Presence of 3,000 Specialists

Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Deanship of Information Technology, participated in the Oracle OpenWorld Middle East conference to showcase its pioneering experience in the use of modern technology. The Vice Dean of Information Technology for e-Transactions, Dr. Atif Al-Hajaili, participated in the keynotes session with a talk entitled, "The World of Tomorrow ... Today", to review the university's experience and plans for digital transformation.

 

The Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC) hosted the conference on February 11-12. The themes discussed at the conference included: cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and toward self-control, to help participants make decisions that shape the future of their companies and customers.

 

Furthermore, Dr. Al-Hajaili reviewed the use of Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse technology for the creation of analytical systems for the administration of the university.

 

This participation was part of the strategic plans set by the deanship to implement the automation plan and dispense totally with paper transactions. Dr. Fahad Al-Dussari, the Dean of Information Technology, praised the great support the deanship receives from His Excellence Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, the President of Umm Al-Qura University, and the University Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani Ghazi, appreciating their directives to upgrade the system of digital services.

 

It is worth mentioning that "Oracle OpenWorld" is held annually in the United States. It is considered one of the most important technical conferences, and it is currently being held for the first time in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The university was invited by the organizing company to offer its expertise to more than 3000 specialists who attended the conference.
