The UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani bin Uthman Ghazi, announced that the Deanship of Academic Development and Quality trained 600 affiliates: 200 employees, 200 students, and 200 academic staff members to write and formulate the strategic plan of the university during the last academic year 1438/1439 A.H.
Dr. Ghazi's statement was made during today's opening of the interactive workshop of the university's strategic plan "Tamkeen 2023" under the title of "Together for Empowerment," which was moderated by Dr. Muhammad Thabit, the Dean of Development, and Dr. Suzan Bardisi, at King Abdul-Aziz Historical Hall in Al-Abdiyyah, and Al-Jawhara Hall at Al-Zahir campus (female section) via a closed-circuit television system, in addition to the university's branch in Al-Qunfudhah. The workshop was attended by Dr. Abdul-Aziz Al-Suruji, the University Vice President for Educational Affairs, and Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khuli, the University Vice President for Female Student Affairs. It is worth mentioning that the workshop witnessed training 1,200 affiliates in the formulation of the University's Strategic Plan.
Dr. Hani Ghazi, stressed that the plan was based on the latest studies in the construction of strategic plans. Emphasis was placed on the strategic objectives, visions, and aspirations of the university affiliates, including the students, teaching staff, and employees, and on modeling them on the National Transformation Program 2020, and Saudi Vision 2030. He said, "Today we have university staff who are able to implement the strategic plan on their own. The workshop was set up for this purpose, to listen to their views and build on the virtual reality in order to implement their goals and plans in the future."
The Tamkeen Plan (2023) aims at promoting the visions and aspirations of the academic staff members and employees for the next five years so that Umm Al-Qura University will be among the top 200 international universities. Through its plan, Umm Al-Qura University seeks to make the best investment of its resources, enhance its community responsibility, enable its academic staff members to publish their research in widely read journals, and enable its students to participate in decision-making, and provide staff and employees with continuous development.
