The UQU President, Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, launched the annual open meeting with the Managing Directors under the title “Entitlements of Managing Directors: An Opportunity for Innovation, Distinction and Administrative Empowerment”. The meeting was organized by the UQU Vice-presidency; represented by the Department of Faculty Members and Employees Affairs, at King Abdulaziz secondary hall on Al-Abidiyah campus, and broadcasted to Khuqeer hall on the girls’ campus. In attendance was the UQU Vice-president, Dr. Yasser bin Suleiman Shushu.

In his word, Dr. Assas urged the Managing Directors to take the responsibility and care for the various educational facilities so as to maintain the educational system and improve it. He also stated that the administrative formations done by the university on annual basis, are meant to fulfill the needs of the work of the different departments. Furthermore, he praised the efforts of Dr. Shushu and his team, and extended his thanks to the Managing Directors for their continuous cooperation.

On his part, Dr. Shushu declared the availability of deduction mechanism for all employees for 36 days, for the days on which the employee is absent as per the prior circulations. He also explained that the text messages that oblige the employee to prove his attendance through the fingerprint device have been temporarily suspended for preparation purposes, however, they’re expected to be implemented in due course to adjust the administrative process for the employees’ full-time presence at their offices, to conduct the transactions they receive from the faculty members, students, or outsiders.

Over and above, Dr. Shushu mentioned that a new mechanism for the maintenance of university buildings has been developed through the university’s website, with the aim of ensuring a proper educational environment at all university buildings. And he further explained that it can be filled in automatically by the Managing Directors, and then the Department of Operation and Maintenance will take the necessary actions to solve the reported error/problem. Besides, he denoted that an electronic pick-up request for the faculty members has been put into force; which does not require contacting the Faculty Members and Employees Affairs. Further, Dr. Shushu referred that the Department of Faculty Members and Employees Affairs is honored to be serving 10,000 members.

Last but not least Dr. Shushu stressed that this workshop comes within the framework of the UQU Vice-presidency’s pursuit to develop the administrative work at all levels and in all sectors, so as to create a productive environment that helps in enhancing the performance of the university’s departments. Concluding, he extended thanks to Dr. Assas who is always eager to hold such meetings for the sake of building the capacity of the managerial staff and developing their skills to eventually enhance the work system at the university.
