His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Prof. Abdullah Bafail, at his office yesterday, inaugurated the University's Anthem Writing Contest that was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs. The inauguration was attended by the University Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Al-Suruji, and the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Amr Al-Saqqaf, as well as the vice deans of the deanship.
His Excellency praised the efforts of the Deanship of Student Affairs to provide distinguished programs and initiatives that contribute to the enhancement of the students' talents and help them develop their ideas and knowledge. The Dean of Student Affairs pointed out that the contest is part of the programs and development plans of the deanship. He explained that the aim of the contest is to write a text for the university's anthem, expressing its vision and mission and reflecting the honorable status of its distinctive location. It will serve as the slogan that its sons chant in the major forums.
He added that participation in the contest is open to all who have ever been affiliated with the university, including former and recent students, academic staff, and employees. Application Submission to the contest is through the following link:
