His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, was briefed about the strategic plan of the College of Computer and Information Systems. This came during his meeting with the Dean of the College of Computer and Information Systems, Dr. Majid Al-Qathami, its vice deans, and the heads of departments, at His Excellency's office on Wednesday, 17 Jumada Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H.
Dr. Al-Qathami explained that the college's strategic plan is designed to make the college one of the best with regard to the academia, research and creativity to prepare qualified cadres, both scientifically and professionally, contribute to technical development and the knowledge-based economy, and serve the community as well as the pilgrims of Hajj and Umrah.
He said this comes in conformity with the University's strategic plan, which is in line with the Saudi Vision 2030, setting artificial intelligence, industrial cities, creativity, innovation, and modeling as part of its main components. He added that the technical sides of the research and investment-oriented graduation projects would be developed.
His Excellency the President of the University stated the importance of achieving quality in the academic disciplines, and maintaining continuous development to keep pace with the Kingdom's vision. He praised the quality programs offered by the College of Computer, and hoped they would introduce new specializations to meet the requirements of the Saudi labor market.
