The Standing Supervisory Committee on Scientific Research Ethics held its first session for the academic year 1439/1440 A.H. on Sunday, 07 Jumada Al-Awwal 1440 A.H. The meeting was headed by the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Thamir bin Himdan Al-Harbi, and all the Committee members.
The meeting began by paying thanks to Allah, and sending peace and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah. Dr. Al-Harbi clarified that the committee was formed based on the tenth standard of academic accreditation "Standards for Scientific Research", to ensure the preservation of ethical standards in research and publications related to research. The Vice-Dean of Scientific Research for Development, Quality, and Academic Accreditation, Dr. Hanadi Bihiri, gave a presentation about the regulations governing the ethics of scientific research. After that, the methods and mechanisms of the supervisory committee and sub-committees were discussed.
