On Wednesday Rabi` Al-Thani 5, 1440 A.H., Jamoum University College hosted the UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khuli, as part of the “Be Happy” initiative launched by His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail. The initiative targets all UQU students and aims to spread a spirit of optimism and hard work among UQU students. The meeting included an open discussion with students of the college to create an effective communication channel between the leadership and the students to achieve the initiative's goals and identify students' needs to create an optimal learning environment.
The Vice Dean of Jamoum University College, Dr. Hanadi Gamrah, expressed appreciation for this visit, which reflects the significant attention paid by the UQU leadership to students to help them achieve their goals. She said the college is moving at a brisk pace by launching a number of developmental initiatives, including the implementation of the Students' Advisory Council, dedicated to giving the students a direct line of communication to the administration through their representatives to voice their needs, proposals, and complaints. "Such a communication channel will upgrade the educational process and contribute to spreading the spirit of optimism and hard work among students," she said.
During the open meeting, Dr. Al-Khuli took questions from the students regarding the college, departments, and courses. She responded to them in a transparent manner and stressed the urgent need to find solutions for the difficulties of some procedures, which may take time for reasons beyond the university's control. She stressed that all the proposals will be studied to determine the best way of achieving them in a manner beneficial to students.
During the meeting, Dr. Hanadi Gamrah thanked Dr. Al-Khuli for her visit to the college to check on the needs of the students.
At the conclusion of the visit, a meeting was held between Dr. Al-Khuli, Dr. Hanadi Gamrah, a number of deputy heads of departments, coordinators of admission, registration, and students affairs, and the members of the student advisory council to discuss prompt solutions for the questions asked by the students.
