The Head of Media Department Holds Discussion Meeting with the Students

The Head of the Department of Mass Communication at the College of Social Sciences, Dr. Salim bin Ali Urijah, held an open dialogue meeting with the Department's students to learn about the mechanism of selecting the undergraduate minors in the Department of Mass Communication during the next stage and development of the educational system. This took place in the presence of the Department's academic staff in the celebration hall of the College of Social Sciences, at the University City in Al-Abdiyyah.

 
Dr. Salim Urijah appreciated the support given by His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, President of Umm Al-Qura University, to the educational environment, and the attention and directives given by Dr. Adnan bin Noury Al-Maghamisy, Dean of the College of Social Sciences, to the learning outcomes and its administrative and research environment. He stressed his keenness to pay attention to field training in the programs related to public relations, the press, radio, and television, in the governmental and civil sectors.

 
He explained that field training is the beginning of the actual outcomes of the Department of Mass Communication for the labor market. It is considered the most important stage experienced by the students of the Department, through which each student can create strong relationships with different training bodies and market the cognitive skills acquired during his educational course. He stressed that the Department of Mass Communication, through its academic competencies, seeks to create a generation that contributes to the service of their country, university, and society, and meet the needs of the labor market according to the Vision of the Kingdom 2030.

 
Dr. Salim bin Ali Urijah strongly advised all students of the Department of Mass Communication to take advantage of the modern technologies provided by the University administration, to improve the educational outcomes. He emphasized that starting from the next semester of the current academic year, 1439/1440 A.H., electronic deletion and addition will be activated, no paper request will be received, and a team will be formed to receive the electronic deletion and addition requests.
