Umm Al-Qura University Reviews its Experience in Measurement and Evaluation at the International Conference on Education Evaluation in Riyadh

Umm Al-Quran University reviewed its experience in measurement and evaluation at the International Conference on Education Evaluation in Riyadh on 26 - 28 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H., corresponding to 4 - 6 December, 2018 A.C. The Conference was held under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz (may Allah safeguard him), and was organized by the Education and Training Evaluation Commission. Its sessions and workshops discussed the latest activities in the field of the development and evaluation of future skills.

During the session entitled 'Experiences of the Saudi Universities in the Development of Future Skills', The Vice-Dean of Academic Development and Quality for Measurement and Evaluation, Dr. Dhiyab bin Ayid Al-Maliki, reviewed the UQU's experience in the development of the concept of measurement and evaluation. He touched on all the measurement and evaluation services, and the mechanism adopted in the measurement of educational performance and logistic services in the University. Moreover, he mentioned the developmental programs offered to the academic staff in the field of measurement and evaluation.

During the International Conference on Education Evaluation, the Vice-Dean of Academic Development and Quality for Measurement and Evaluation summarized the UQU's experience in two main fields. First, establishing an institutional evaluation system for all the activities and services offered by Umm Al-Qura University, in addition to developing 82 performance indicators to measure all the educational practices and services offered. Second, giving attention to the dissemination of the culture of measurement and evaluation, and enabling the academic staff, students, and employees to understand the true meaning of the concept of measurement and evaluation and the sound practices in this regard.

On his part, the Vice-President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani bin Uthman Ghazi, appreciated the selection of the UQU's experience as being one of the optimum scientific and educational experiences and practices from among all the Saudi universities. He also thanked His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, for his unlimited support of all the educational activities and services.
