Today in his office, His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, UQU President, launched the first release of the outputs of the Qur'anic Guidance Chair that was established for the purpose of compiling the World Encyclopedia of Qur'anic Guidance, which consists of sixty doctoral dissertations and was concluded with the participation of several international universities.
Inauguration of the first edition of the outputs took place in the presence of the Vice-President of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi, the Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Ahdal, Vice-Deans of the Deanship of Scientific Research, and the Supervisor of the Qur'anic Guidance Chair, Prof. Yahya Al-Zamzami.
A copy of the book “Guidance of Surat Al-Fatihah” was presented to His Excellency. The book is a peer reviewed scholarly research and part of the first thesis included within the encyclopedia. It had been submitted, along with a total of fifty scholarly researches, to take part in the 8th Annual International Qur'anic Conference (Muqaddas VIII) organized by the University of Malaya, Malaysia, under the scientific supervision of the Chair of the Holy Quran at Umm Al-Qura University.
His Excellency also watched a video report on the conference's special events and recommendations.
After the inauguration, His Excellency the UQU President voiced his praise and endorsement of this first release of the outputs of the Qur’anic Guidance Chair, adding that for its part, Umm Al-Qura University, thanks to Allah, would spare no effort to contribute to the Scientific Chairs that serve the Holy Qur’an and its sciences, and the Pure Sunnah and its sciences, and work at placing them in the service of the communities.
During his speech, the Supervisor of the Qur'anic Guidance Chair, Prof. Yahya Zamzami, said that the project included, "Preparing a specialized world encyclopedia in the field of Qur'anic Guidance, to be compiled from PhD theses of doctoral students across different universities around the world. Its aim is to spread the guiding message of the Holy Qur’an worldwide, and contribute to enriching scientific research in this field." Finally, he praised the support and care given by His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi, and the Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research for the constant support shown by them to the activities and programs of the Holy Qur’an Chair.
