His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, received the Head and members of the external auditing team of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) in his office at the University City in Al-Abdiyyah.
This meeting was held in the presence of the Vice-President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani bin Uthman Ghazi; the Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Muhammad Thabit; the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Ahmad Al-Ahmadi; the Dean of the College of Computer and Information Systems, Dr. Majid Al-Qathami; and a number of the UQU academic staff members and advisors.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the UQU President welcomed the team and wished them success in following the progress of the work and requirements for the renewal of the international academic accreditation of the different departments of the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture and the College of Computer and Information Systems.
His Excellency reviewed the UQU colleges, institutes, research centers in different fields, and academic and research specializations. He also praised the continuous support that the wise leadership (may Allah help it) gives to the University in order for it to be one of the leading universities. He also highlighted the importance of this visit, as it serves to identify many recommendations that will serve the academic system according to the international standards.
On his part, His Excellency the Vice-President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani Ghazi, expressed his happiness and contentment with the honorable level reached by the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture and the College of Computer. He also asserted that the goal sought by the Vice-Deanship for Development and Entrepreneurship is to continue to continue to maintain the high quality of the programs offered by the University.
In this regard, the Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Muhammad Ja`far Thabit, clarified that this delegation's visit will last for three days, during which all the facilities and equipment of the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture and the College of Computer and Information Systems will be inspected.
The visit paid by the delegation of the US ABET aimed at renewing the international academic accreditation of the programs of the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture and the College of Computer and Information Systems.
