Al-Qunfudhah University College held an award ceremony on Tuesday, 19 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H., for distinguished students at the different colleges of the University in Al-Qunfudhah under the auspices of the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail. The ceremony was held in the presence of the vice-presidents, His Excellency the Governor of Al-Qunfudhah governorate, and the deans and vice-deans of the colleges in Al-Qunfudhah.

This award ceremony for male and female students aimed at motivating students and sharing their joy and happiness of reaching such high levels in their studies and achieving their aspirations. It also aimed at participating in preparing the future generation, who will be creative makers and the hope of their auspicious country.

The ceremony in the female section was supervised by Her Excellency the Vice-President for Female Students Affairs, Dr. Sharifah Al-Hazimi, who accompanied the female students during this enjoyable celebration. The ceremony was given comprehensive coverage and all its events were transmitted through TV networks from the theater of the College in the male section to the female section. The ceremony started with recitation of the Qur'an, and was followed by the speech of the Dean of the College of Health Sciences, Prof. Omar Al-Hazzazi. A documentary film about Al-Qunfudhah Colleges was displayed, and then followed by a poem by Dr. Yahya bin Mizhar Al-Zahrani entitled, 'Working Together, We Attain Superiority'. Afterwards, the students' speech was delivered. At the end of the ceremony, female students were honored with awards, certificates, shields and bouquets in the presence of the vice-deans, deputy heads of the different departments, and the academic staff and administrative staff of Al-Qunfudhah colleges.

At the end of the ceremony, her Excellency the Vice-President of Female Students Affairs honored the vice-deans, deputy heads of the departments, and the organizing committee of the ceremony. Then this marvelous ceremony was rounded off with melodious chants that bore the words of the female students who were honored. The students expressed their great happiness with this honor that lifted their spirits to exert more efforts to reach their desired goals. They also thanked the administration of Umm Al-Qura University for the efforts they exerted for the students, under our wise leadership, may Allah protect it.
