The first group of startups emerging from the Valley of Mecca Technologies generated more than 100 jobs in a number of different areas, noting that the Mecca Valley startups are business transformation outputs for research, innovation and patents. Its areas range from the Internet of Things to cities systems, smart buildings, health care applications, transport and crowd management techniques. The jobs include multiple areas, such as technical development, sales and marketing, and others.
For his part, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Valley of Mecca Technology, Dr Nabil bin Abdul Qadir Kooshk, expressed his satisfaction with the jobs that the first group of companies emerging from the Valley of Mecca provided, as the persons in charge of the Valley of Mecca believe that emerging companies based on research and innovation is one of the most important drivers of knowledge-based economy. He referred to the success achieved by the first group of startups from Valley of Mecca by going into the market and achieving sales for government entities and private sector, making it a magnet for venture capital, private ownership and individual investors.
UQU President and Chairman of Valley of Mecca Technology, Dr Bakry bin Maatouq Assas, stressed that the skills and abilities of our students is the most important and most valuable resources, expressing his eagerness to provide the greatest amount of jobs for young people in companies emerging from the Valley of Mecca, in keeping with the National Transformation Program linked to KSA Vision 2030, which pushes the private sector to be a key driver for the recruitment of nationals, and a source of prosperity for the country through partnership in different sectors in bearing the responsibility.
