The UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Kholy, met with the female students of Jamoum University College regarding the "Be Happy" initiative launched recently by His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail. The initiative targets the male and female students of all the UQU branches. The UQU President aims to spread a spirit of optimism among the students, and urges them to work diligently. The meeting was held in the presence of the Dean of Jamoum University College, Dr. Hanady Qamrah, in the College Theater at the headquarters of the college in Jamoum.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Sarah Al-Kholy praised the efforts and support provided by His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, toward the activities and programs of the Vice-Presidency for Female Student Affairs. She also pointed out that holding such a meeting with the female students of the university branch in Jamoum comes as part of the "Be Happy" initiative, which contributes to developing the educational and research environment in order to fulfill the aspirations of the college's female students. This is implemented through the specialized programs held for its students, which are in line with the requirements of the labor market.
Dr. Sarah also clarified that this meeting aims to achieve the objectives of the "Be Happy" initiative launched by His Excellency the UQU President, and to discover and fulfill the needs of the female students. Moreover, this meeting aims to enhance the positive aspects of the educational environment and the specialized programs in order for their outcomes to correspond to the national transformation plans 2020 and the Saudi Vision 2030. This is implemented in order for Umm Al-Qura University to be a leading university with regard to its different programs and activities, and to enable it to serve its country which is witnessing a developmental boom in different fields.
The Vice-President for Jamoum University College, Dr. Hanady Qamrah, expressed her happiness for this visit, which reveals the attention given by the university's management and leadership to students in order to achieve the country's future visions and aspirations. Moreover, she indicated that Jamoum University College takes great strides via the developmental work which gives attention to the female students. This is represented in the activation of the Student Advisory Council, which is concerned, first and foremost, with conveying the students' opinions directly to the university's management via the female representatives of the different departments. She also revealed that this council serves as a communication bridge that aims to upgrade the educational process in the college, to spread a spirit of optimism among the students, and to urge them to work diligently and take advantage of the programs that take care of the female students and enhance their sense of belonging to the college and university.
Next, Dr. Sarah Al-Kholy met with the Vice-Dean for Jamoum University College, deputy heads of the departments, coordinators of admissions and registration, female student affairs, and a member of the college's Student Advisory Council in order to discuss the means of developing the educational environment and its educational outcomes.
