The UQU Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Amro bin Taha Al-Saggaf, has launched the buildings of the scientific club at the College of Applied Sciences affiliated to the Vice Deanship of Student Activities at the Deanship of Student Affairs. Present at the launching ceremony were the Vice Dean of Student Activities, Dr. Omar Sonbol; the Dean of the Applied Sciences College, Dr. Hatim Al-Tus; the Vice Dean of Student Affairs and the College of Applied Sciences; and the supervisor, head and members of the scientific club.
The ceremony was launched with a Quranic recitation. Then, student Abdullah Al-Aleemy spoke on behalf of the club president, saying, "Proceeding from the slogan of the Deanship of Student Affairs, ‘Students First’, the students' scientific club was established by the students of the College of Applied Sciences. It will serve a large number of university students to prepare scientific elites scientifically, culturally, and methodologically in all fields of science. We also hope to achieve excellence and leadership in the extra-curricular programs provided for students." He then extended his thanks to the Dean of Students Affairs, Dr. Amro Al-Saggaf, and the vice deans for the support provided to the students. Following this, the Scientific Club's advisor, Dr. Fahd Al-Hashmy, delivered speech, saying, "We are satisfied to see our students playing a dynamic role in the activities provided for them, which are fully supported by the Deanship of Students Affairs, indicating that the club will be one of the crucial pillars for student activities in the college." He then extended his thanks to Dr. Amro Al-Saggaf and Dr. Hatim Al-Tus for supporting the establishment of this club. He also thanked all those who contributed to this club.
After that, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Tahal Al-Saggaf addressed the audience. He extended his thanks to the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, the Vice Dean of Student Affairs for Student Activities, and to all those who contributed to the establishment of the club. He said the student club would be among other clubs that will continue serving the college and the university students. He also praised the continued support provided to all the activities and programs of the Deanship of Student Affairs by the UQU President Pr,of. Abdullah Bafail.
Wrapping up the ceremony, the Dean of Student Affairs and the Vice Dean for Student Activities honored the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, the heads of the college departments, and the head of the Scientific Club.
