In his presentation on the research achievements of the Institute, “The Honour of Hajj and Umrah Services in the National Vision 2030”, presented at the “Research in UQU: A History of Distinction” seminar, Dr. Ahmed Hatem Qadi, the Deputy of the Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah branch stated that the Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research at UQU applies the comprehensive researches approach in its Hajj and Umrah Research that extend from idea to implementation, so as to serve 15 million Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in accordance with the Saudi Vision 2030. Held at UQU, at King Abdulaziz Hall at Al-Abidiyyah Campus, and under the auspices of Dr. Bakri bin Matooq Assas, the UQU President, the seminar was attended by a number of deanships and research institutes of the university.
Moreover, Dr. Qadi mentioned that the Institute has worked, for a long time, on serving the Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and visitors, and its studies are in line with the National Vision 2030 that aims at exploiting its efforts and capabilities for the service of the pilgrims. He also added that the Institute seeks to serve more than 15 million Umrah pilgrims per year, by 1442H, and ensure their ultimate satisfaction.
In addition, Dr. Qadi denoted that the Institute is considered the scientific and consultative reference for the Hajj, Umrah and Visit researches and their applications, as it offers an accumulative scientific experience of 40 years, during which it conducted more than 800 scientific researches and reports. Furthermore, he pointed out that the Institute includes 5 scientific departments, 30 research units, and it holds annual scientific conferences that reached 16 conferences gathering Hajj and Umrah Researchers from inside the institute and outside it.
Over and above, Dr. Qadi praised the generous support the Institute receives from UQU, represented in its President, Dr. Bakri bin Matooq Assas, and the university officials.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Qadi confirmed that the Institute has the confidence of the entire governmental agencies, through its role in supporting decision making, and its official participation in the Central Hajj Committee, and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Hajj Committee. It also enjoys the logistical support of the official authorizations, research labs, strategic collaborations, and students and data collectors’ trainings.
Last but not least, Dr. Qadi indicated that the comprehensive researches approach adopted by the institute enables it to conduct, implement and analyze its scientific researches before it hands them to the implementing agencies working in the field of Hajj and Umrah.
