Since the emergence of Islam, Makkah has been the spring of righteousness, and it is loved by all and filled with grace. This is evidenced by Allah’s response to Abraham peace be upon him: "O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring to dwell in a valley without cultivation, by Thy Sacred House; in order, O our Lord, that they may establish regular Prayer: so fill the hearts of some among men with love towards them, and feed them with fruits: so that they may give thanks. And it is supported by Abraham’s peace be upon him, praying upon Allah’s instruction as the verse says: "And proclaim the Pilgrimage among men: they will come to thee on foot and (mounted) on every kind of camel, lean on account of journeys through deep and distant mountain highways.”
With this in mind, the University rover scouting has not spared an effort in serving the Haj performers and ensuring their comfort under the “Islamic World Union” pavilion, a service for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ guests. It participated with a team made up of 20 scouts supervised by the Student Affairs Deanship from September 3rd to 15th, 2016. It gained the admiration and praise the Union’s guests. It also dedicated a shield to the Union’s Secretary-General, Dr. Mohammed ibn Abdulkereim Ala’aeisa. Similarly, the Secretary-General thanked the University rover scouting for the services it provided during this period.
This reflects the belief of the rover scouting that serving the Haj performers is a privilege not duty which Allah singled them out to do. And in so doing, they follow in the footsteps of our prudent government, and the care the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman ibn Abdul-Aziz lends to the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors affairs.
The Student Affairs Deanship Dean, Dr. Amr Taha Alsaqaf avails himself of this occasion to extend thanks to the University Director and its Educational Affairs Deputy Dean for their interest in constantly supporting all the activities of the Student Affairs Deanship.
