Represented by Dr. Ayman bin Abdurrahman Al-Harby, General Supervisor of the Information Technology Unit for Consultation and Training (ITUCT), and his team, a team from the Consulting Research and Studies Institute participated in the Hajj Hackathon, the biggest Hackathon in the Middle East. The event comprised many developers interested in employing technology in various domains. It also witnessed the participation of about 2950 developers from above 100 states.
It is worth mentioning that the Hajj Hackathon is organized by the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones (SAFCSP). In other words, such event attracts leading minds in the domains of design, programming and innovation of technical solutions that contribute to enriching and improving the experience of pilgrims.
During the event, Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Al-Shaery, Dean of the Consulting Research and Studies Institute, appreciated the participation of ITUCT. He pointed out that such event was considered within the framework of UQU’s commitment to motivate consultation, and create an innovative atmosphere for staff members and students to achieve local, regional and global leadership in the domains of technology. He added that such event was regarded as a platform for young people, providing them with support and diverse career opportunities that met the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030.
In turn, Dr. Al-Shaery also hailed the continuous support provided by Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Omar Bafil, UQU President, for the participations and events in which the Institute contributed.
