UQU President: Al-Qunfudah Urgent Buildings to Be Offered … They will Be Available in the 2nd Semester

Dr. Abdullah bin Omar Bafeel, President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), said that the pressing buildings of the University College in Al-Qunfudah are in the process of being offered in a tender to be given to the contractor. They will be available to the male and female students at the beginning of the second semester of the academic year 1439/1440 AH. He added that during the design phase there was a series of workshops held to study the needs of the college of laboratories, classrooms, administrative offices and supporting services them, and these buildings become for urgent projects on the land allocated to them, which covers an area of about 160 thousand square meters.

Dr. Bafeel announced that during his visit to the university branch in Al-Qunfudah Province. He was accompanied by Dr. Abdelaziz bin Rashab Sorouji, UQU Vice-President for Educational Affairs; Dr. Abdelmaguid bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, UQU Vice-President for Branches; Dr. Mohamed bin Wasel Al-Hazmi, Advisor to UQU President and General Supervisor of Projects Managements; Dr. Yassin Al-Zubaidi, Dean of the University College in Al-Qunfudah; and deans of the university colleges in Al- Qunfudah and officials of the relevant departments in the university.

UQU President extolled the support given by the wise leadership- May Allah support it- to the educational process at the main headquarters of the university along with its branches in Jamoum, Al-Lith, Al-Qunfudah and Adham Provinces. He pointed out that the university branch in Al-Qunfudah includes all disciplines in medicines, engineering, computer sciences and Islamic studies, Arabic language, as well as the scientific disciplines and the English language, which is attended by about 15 thousand students; referring to the support of Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Issa, Minister of Education, to the programs and activities provided by the university.

UQU President’s visit included the university branch in Al-Qunfudah, including the main building of the University College and premises (B, G, D & H), the Colleges of Engineering and Computer, the College of Health Science, the University College’s female section, the College of Medicine, the premises of the College of Computers and Preparatory Year Deanship. He also visited the land allocated to the new project; the pressing premises.

In his turn, Dr. Mohammed Al-Hazmi explained that the project of the pressing buildings in Al-Qunfudah university branch is four buildings for male and female students that belong to the University College, which includes classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices and supporting services. He pointed out that the project is implemented according to the requirements of the approved spatial program for each building and in line with the requirements of the educational environment in accordance with the highest standards.

 

The General Supervisor, also, confirmed that the capacity of the project for the pressing buildings in Al-Qunfudah is more than two thousand students, which is being implemented on the land allocated to the university along with the Medical College on 16 thousand square meters. He appreciated the support and guidance of Dr. Abdullah bin Omar Bafeel that will expedite the implementation of the pressing buildings of the University College in Al-Qunfudah.

For his part, UQU President met with Dr. Abdullah bin Omar Mr. Fada Al-Baqmi, Governor of Qunfudah, at the Governor's office in Al-Qunfudah.
