A course was organized by the Vice-Deanship of Admission and Registration (Girls Section) for the Deanship’s female employees on Thursday 28th Shawwal 1439H. The course was entitled, “Volunteering & the Social and Professional Responsibility.” It was presented by Dr. Somayya bint Ezzat Sharaf, Vice-Dean of Scientific Research for Voluntary Research and Accredited Trainer of a number of professional performance development courses.

The course aimed to introduce employees to the concept of, and relation between, volunteerism and social responsibility, and explain their impact on human behavior.

In this regard, the course tackled several themes, including but not limited to, the following:

  • Objectives and significance of volunteerism as one of the elements of achieving the Saudi Vision 2030.
  • Positive impact of volunteering on the individual and society.
  • Characteristics and domains of voluntary work, in addition to the social and professional responsibility of women.
  • The main obstacles and needs to achieve the objectives of volunteer work.

In the same context, the course included a number of activities and discussions that were concluded by Dr. Somayya Sharaf. She thanked the employees for their attendance and interaction.

In turn, Dr. Fatima bint Ali Al-Ghamdy, Vice-Dean of Admission and Registration, extended thanks to Dr. Somayya Sharaf for presenting the course. Moreover, she appreciated the support by Dr. Hashim Al-Samadany (Dean of Admission and Registration), and Prof. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Soroujy (UQU Vice-President for Educational Affairs) for such courses. She added that such courses developed the employees’ professional and social skills according to the vision and mission of the University.
