UQU President Launches e-Course of Biography of the Prophet

President of Umm Al-Qura university Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail launched the e-Course of Biography of the Prophet in the presence of the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Al-Sorouji, UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi, Dean of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies Dr. Ghazi bin Morshid Al-Otaibi and the Dean of e-Learning and Distance Education Dr. Khalid bin Hatim Al-Motairi, at the meetings hall of his office at the university campus in Abdyia. 

 

For his part, the Dean of e-Learning and Distance Education Dr. Khalid Al-Motairi said the deanship witnesses a new stage of work development and continuous work to effectively contribute to developing the education process in line with the university vision of improving the quality of teaching and learning, indicating that they are endeavoring to carry out an outstanding training program which focuses on providing skills for students and faculty member for the best use of the e-learning portal and all other available tools, programs, and systems.  

 

Within the same vein, the Dean of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies Dr. Ghazi bin Morshid Al-Otaibi touched upon the partnership between the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies and the Deanship of e-Learning and Distance Education in developing  Biography of the Prophet Course pointing out to the future plan of developing other courses electronically.

 

In turn, the UQU President Prof. Abdulla Bafail praised the support attached by the wise leadership to the educational process and the academic programs in the university. He also praised the directives and follow up of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmad bin Mohamed Al-Issa of all the programs and activities of the university. 

 

He recommended setting a plan to develop study courses according to the requirements of the current technology in such manner that makes science and knowledge attractive for students. He noted that such technologies contribute to teaching students directly and in an interactive manner making it easier for him to understand and master the courses. He went on to add that the e-courses are among the programs which the university endeavor to develop in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030 towards electronic governance.


Wrapping up his speech, he lauded the exerted efforts in the university towardS developing and upgrading the educational environment.
