A delegation from the Biology Department at Jamoum University College was part of a visit organized by the Vice Deanship of the College for Educational Affairs to King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST). The delegation was headed by Dr. Samir bin Hassan Mohamed Qari, in the presence of Dr. Kamal Attia, Dr. Abdulmajeed Al-Refaey and a group of distinct students in the department.
The program of the visit included looking at the programs offered by the university in the field of life sciences, in addition to a visit to the research labs in the field of biology. The delegation was also informed of the latest lab technologies and services. In addition, possible cooperation aspects in the field of scientific research and attracting distinguished students to the department was discussed.
Noteworthy, KAUST is one of the most modern Saudi universities internationally. It is dedicated for research and higher studies. It is located in the city of Thuwal on the Red Sea coast, in the North of Jeddah, in western Saudi Arabia. It is estimated to be on an area of 36 million square meter, and is one of the largest campuses in the world. KAUST started offering its services on 5 September 2009, and was officially inaugurated on 23 September 2009 on the National Day of Saudi Arabia.
