Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khouly, UQU Vice-President for Female Student Affairs, launched the annual exhibition of the works by Designs College students and its attached fashion show on Thursday, 10th Shaaban 1439H at the Designs College premises in Al-Mansour Street. The event was held in conjunction with the World Design Day under the slogan, “It Was an Idea.” It was also attended by Dr. Samira bint Ahmad Al-Abdaly, Vice-Dean of the Designs College, in addition to a number of the College’s vice-deans and staff members.
The event started with a tour by Dr. Sarah Al-Khouly at the “It Was an Idea” Exhibition. During the tour, the exhibition was an embodiment of many student abilities and skills that demonstrated the creative ability of students to produce paper designs. This would contribute to the implementation of the outputs of their creative work in accordance with the requirements of the labor market, and the Saudi Vision 2030.
This was followed by the speech ceremony which began with a Quranic recitation. Then, Dr. Samira Al-Abdaly gave her speech in which she welcomed the attendees, hailed the efforts exerted for the success of such exhibition and extended deep thanks to the department heads. She also appreciated the guidance provided by Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Omar Bafil, UQU President, for the support of UQU student programs and activities.
In turn, Dr. Sarah Al-Khouly stressed in her speech that creative and artistic disciplines would open domains of work by presenting creative products to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030. Moreover, she confirmed the need to encourage students to strive for achievement and innovation.
Afterwards, another speech was given by the Heads of the Departments of Fashion and Housing and Home Management. At this point, the fashion show began.
