President of Umm Al-Qura University Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail launched the workshop of e-Employment Portal organized by the Deanship of Information Technology in collaboration with the Department of Faculty Members and Employees Affairs to explain the mechanism of sorting job applications via the system. The workshop which was held at King Faisal Hall at the university campus in Abdyia was attended by the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi and the Deans of the colleges.
Meanwhile, the UQU President urged the Deans of the Colleges and all relevant parties to stick to transparency in distinguishing between the applicants and giving the applicant the option of following up his request from everywhere and the procedures taken in this regard. He then lauded the support attached by the wise leadership to the academic programs and the educational environment in the university designed to graduate a generation who will contribute to serving his religion, nation, and community. He also praised the support provided by the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa, for all the programs of the university.
He underscored that the system of e-Services in the university must witness a qualitative leap to cover all the procedures and transactions in such manner that will serve the National Transformation Plan 2020 and the Kingdom Vision 2030 by harnessing and providing the latest technology programs and capacities to serve the university affiliates including; students, employees, and faculty members. He then called upon the participants in the workshop to come up with meaningful recommendations which will contribute to serving beneficiaries of the e-Employment system.
For his part, the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship Dr. Hani Ghazi lauded the keenness of the UQU President Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail to participate in this workshop which will contribute to upgrading e-service system in the university in line with the academic outcomes and requirements which will have a positive impact on the beneficiaries from the university services by such manner of harnessing modern technology to serve male and female affiliates of the university. He then lauded the efforts exerted by all the participants in the workshop.
Within the same vein, the Dean of Information Technology Dr. Fahad Al-Dossari said that launching of e-Employment Portal in its advanced version is set to provide full automation for all employment procedures of all job categories in the university. He indicated that such new system comes within the endeavors of the Deanship of Information Technology to automate all the administrative, financial and academic procedures in the university.
Further, the Vice Dean of IT for e-Transactions Dr. Atef Alhejali provided a detailed presentation about the new system saying that the employment portal will allow the applicants to review jobs, sorting them, learn about their data and apply for the required job, upload all required information, follow-up request status and review notifications in this regard.
He added that the internal employment system run by the Department of Faculty Members and Employee Affairs will be responsible for the following tasks; creating the Job announcement, posting the available jobs for applications and the required qualifications and majors, revising and approving the majors by the Deans of the Colleges and the relevant parties, creating the career calendar, setting stages and dates of procedures, sorting job applications, excluding non-matching requests, setting dates of tests, sending notifications to applicants, naming the qualifiers to the second stage, defining the final list of candidates and reserve candidates and completing employment procedures.
