At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ghazi, praised the support and directives given by Dr. Bafail to the development programs and technologies in UQU, which can contribute to developing the research and educational environment as well as the academic programs in accordance with international standards.
Afterwards, Dr. Barqawi explained that the aim of the service is to create flexibility for faculty members in terms of implementing the college’s programs, whether these programs were affiliation programs, the evening preparatory year, parallel masters, or diplomas. He noted that this service also enables faculty members to look at the contract with the ability to either accept or reject.
For his part, Dr. Al-Dousari emphasized that the service includes integrating the contracts of the Community Service College into an automatic system for contracts issuance electronically. He said that dues of faculty members are calculated automatically based on his schedule and the systematic burden. Faculty members can also review the items and the amounts due for the faculty member are well as its details through the e-portal. The faculty member can then either accept it or refuse it and give reasons. It is possible to re-issue the contract by the college.
He said that some of the advantages of the contract is giving authorities to the Head of the Department and the Dean of the College to approve the contract electronically through the system in order to print the contract at the college without the needs for papers or paying a visit to the College. He also pointed out that the Deanship of Information Technology, with the guidance of Dr. Bafail, is working to develop its e-system and keep up with the latest technologies.
Afterwards, Dr. Bafail launched the unified e-contracts for the faculty members within the programs of Community Service and Continuous Education college, praising the support that UQU receives from the wise leadership, which enabled it to achieve excellence in many of its programs, based on the highest international standards and services. He stressed that special attention must also be given to the infrastructure of the e-services system, as it can contribute to providing high-quality services to the staff of the university, and dedicate new technology to serve them in accordance with the kingdom’s 2030 vision towards e-governance.
Dr. Bafail also explained that UQU is looking to turn all its services into electronic ones in order to improve the level of its services and keep up with the digital transformation currently prevalent in the world. He pointed out that this system will also improve the educational and research outputs offered by the university in its main headquarters in Makkah and the branches in the provinces of Jamoum, Al-Laith, Adham, and Al-Qunfudhah with the support of the Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa. This can help create qualitative programs that lead to the graduation of students who have high qualifications, helping match educational outputs with the requirements of the labor market.
