Admission Standing Committee Holds First Meeting for 1437/1438H Year

The UQU admission standing committee on Ramadan 25, held its first meeting for the year 1437/1438H. President of Umm Al Qura University Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas chaired the meeting which was attended by Vice-President for Educational Affairs Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Al-Srouji, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan al-Harbi, Dean of Admission and Registration Dr. Abdulmajeed bin Saeed Al Ghamdi and Dean of the Postgraduate Studies Professor Salih bin Abdullah Al-Firaih.

The meeting has also been attended by Dean of Information Technology Dr. Majed Al Gethami, Dean of Community College Dr. Khaled Barqawi, Dean of College of Community Service and Continuing Education Dr. Hamed Al Rubaie and Vice-Deans of Admission and Registration Dr. Al Thaqafy and Dr. Hossam Al Hakmy in addition to Secretary of the Committee Mohamed Allbban.

The meeting reviewed lists of applicants who want to join the UQU and compared number of portal's visitors with the number of students who have already added their details. The attendees have also discussed Life Chat and Contact US services in addition to the interview schedule, statistics, the preparatory year's night courses, applications pro forma comparison and the interviews for the Colleges of Education, Da'wa and Usul-ud-Din and Al-Qunfudah University College.

Following the meeting, Dr. Assas asserted the Deanship of Admission and Registration has spared no efforts to create a favorable climate for students who are accepted for admission in 1437/1437H. He highlighted support shown by the Kingdom's leaders and Education Minister Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Issa to help the students serving their homeland. He thanked Dr. Al-Srouji, Dr. Al Ghamdi and their working team on efforts exerted to do the job.

The Deanship of Admission and Registration has developed plans for every specialty and set early dates for admission to cover all scientific and theoretical programs, Dr. Al-Srouji said, praising Dr. Assas for supporting the deanship. He thanked employees at the deanships of Admission and Registration and Information Technology for their hard work.

For his part, Al Ghamdi announced the first phase for written tests and interviews for bachelor programs would start on Shawal 6, and ends on Shawal 15.  An SMS would be sent for every student according to their wishes to inform him about the tests and interviews needed for admission, he said.  The applicants may take part in more than an interview or test according to the received messages, Al Ghamdi said. Also, students can check their application status via the admission portal, he added.

The dean asserted the applicants are requested to show 30 minutes before every test and only students who hold ID cards would be given access. He noted that the applicants who are wishing to attend admission tests for the Physical Education Programs shall get a printout of the medical examination form from the link appear in the short messages they received.
