During his visit to Umm Al-Qura University and checking Wadi Makkah Company for Technology today; Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region witnessed the signing of three cooperation agreements between Wadi Makkah Company for Technology and Development of Makkah Region Authority from one side, and Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Saudi Spine Society from the other side. The signing was attended by Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq Assas, Umm Al-Qura University President and CEO of Wadi Makkah Company for Technology; Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi, UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship and CEO of Wadi Makkah Company for Technology; the University’s Vice Deanship; Dr. Hesham Abdul Rahman Al-Falih, the Secretary-General of Development of Makkah Region Authority; Dr. Faisal bin Ahmed Allaf, the CEO of Wadi Makkah Company for Technology; and a number of the Region’s Officials.
The three agreements were inked by Dr. Faisal bin Ahmed Allaf, representing Wadi Makkah Company for Technology, with Dr. Hesham Abdul Rahman Al-Falih, the Secretary-General of Development of Makkah Region Authority; Marwan Abbas Shaaban, the Head of Makkah Chamber of Commerce; and Dr. Samy Al-Eisa, the Secretary-General of Saudi Spine Society.
The deals aim for a fruitful cooperation between Wadi Makkah Company for Technology and the three other parties for benefiting of the Kingdom and citizen, raising the level of performance, developing the allocated land for Wadi Makkah Company for Technology to be an attraction hub for business and platform for innovation and entrepreneurship.
After the ceremony, Dr. Bakri highlighted that the inking of the university, represented by Wadi Makkah Company for Technology which is the investment arm of the university, for the operational deals with Development of Makkah Region Authority, Makkah Chamber of Commerce, and Saudi Spine Society is a witness on the paradigm shift which the university is going through, thanks to the support it gets from the wise leadership and the consideration and follow-up of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Advisor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and current Governor of Makkah Province, and Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region for the UQU projects and activities. This is in addition to the support of Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa, Minister of Education, so that UQU would be one of the globally leading universities. He added that the signing step will contribute to achieving the strategy put by the University for its national participation in building the knowledge economy.
Moreover, Each of Dr. Hesham Abdul Rahman Al-Falih, the Secretary-General of Development of Makkah Region Authority; Marwan Abbas Shaaban, the Head of Makkah Chamber of Commerce; and Dr. Samy Al-Eisa, the Secretary-General of Saudi Spine Society, expressed their great happiness and gratitude for Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, for attending the signing ceremony of the cooperation deals. They added that the UQU’s accomplishments in this field are a matter of pride and encourage the parties to support and promote such national projects.
Dr. Hani bin Osman Ghazi, UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship and CEO of Wadi Makkah Company for Technology, lauded the directives and follow-up of the UQU President, which saved a lot of efforts and aim at putting the UQU in the position it deserves. He highlighted that these deals come as a part of the plans that were drawn by the University to be among the leading universities and contribute with its national role and effective participation by the scientific expertise and the youth innovative and creative potentials in this generous nation.
Furthermore, Dr. Faisal bin Ahmed Allaf, representing Wadi Makkah Company for Technology, expressed his thanks and appreciation for the UQU President and the Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship for their support for Wadi Makkah Company for Technology to achieve the national objectives which it was established for. He added that the three agreements signed today with the public and private sectors reflect what the UQU and its investment arm witness and the fruit of their plans for the industry and production of the knowledge technology.
