UQU President Reviews Performance Report of Safety Department

President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas reviewed the performance report of the Safety Department in all the facilities of the university. The meeting which took place in his office at the Abdyia-based campus was attended by the UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majeed bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Director of Safety Department Dr. Hani Siraj Wazan and Deputy Director of Safety Department for Technical Affairs Mr. Waleed bin Mubarak Al-Johani.

 

At the commencement of the meeting, The Director of Safety Department Eng. Hani Siraj Wazan and the Deputy Director of the Department for Technical Affairs Mr. Waleed bin Mubarak Al-Johani reviewed the achievements made in the last year in which the department was separated from the security department indicating that the safety concept was boosted to become the priority for the university affiliates inside and outside the university in line with the modern scientific programs and mechanisms to be applied in all facilities of the university depending on the collective and integrated efforts to create an educational environment including all secure safety systems. They lauded the support of UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas and his lasting keenness to upgrade educational and research environment in the university besides the follow-up of the UQU Vice President for Branches Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Ghamdi to all the programs provided by the safety department.

    

For his part, the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas praised the efforts exerted by the Director of Safety Department Eng. Hani Wazan which contributed to providing all requirements of safety on the ground to maintain the safety of male and female students. He also lauded the field efforts directly made by the Deputy Director of Safety Department for Technical Affairs Mr. Waleed Al-Johani. He indicated that the objective behind founding the safety department was to maintain the safety of the university affiliates and visitors by creating a secure and free of risks university environment, maintaining the safety of university buildings, equipment and properties, besides creating an integrated and effective system which can be updated and developed to manage safety operations.  

 

Wrapping up his speech, Dr. Assas referred to the importance of increasing readiness level  in implementing and activating safety plans and means in the university and its branches, setting mechanisms to prevent accidents and reduce their physical losses, besides implementing the  training and executive plans and studies  set by the specialized team in the safety department in line with the international standards.
