Public Health College Holds Awareness Campaign about Mental Health

The College of Public Health and Health Informatics at the girls section has organized an awareness campaign on mental health under the slogan "The Impact of Mental Health in Light of Globalization" at the headquarters of Dar Al-Bushra Schools in Makkah. A number of students from the concerned Department and the Student Club has participated in the campaign. The campaign was held with the coordination of  the Vice Dean of the College for Educational Affairs in the girls section, Dr. Mishael Al-Fayfi, under the supervision of Dr. Laila Sulaiman Al-Faki, on Sunday 2 Jumada Al-Akhira 1439AH corresponding with 18 February 2018.

The campaign included educating students about mental health problems, their causes, and their impact on individuals and society, as well as ways of prevention. Pamphlets and educational leaflets were distributed about various mental illnesses to female students. Additionally, the students were provided with some symbolic gifts. Participants were honored with certificates of thanks and appreciation.

The Dean of the College, Dr. Wahib bin Dakhilallah Al-Harbi, praised the effective role played by the students at the College of Public Health and Health Informatics at UQU in raising awareness among the women of the community about the dangers of many illnesses and the ways to limit their spread.
