The UQU's College of Engineering and the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques (GPH) held a discussion meeting on Wednesday Ramadan 10, 1437H to examine means of cooperation between the college's teaching staff, employees and the GPH's technical and engineering specialists.
The meeting is part of an inclusive cooperation program which is endorsed by the presidency and Umm Al Qura University. It was held under the patronage of the GPH president Sheikh Dr. Abdurrahman bin Abdulaziz Al Sudais and attended by his deputy Dr. Mohamed bin Naser Al-Khuzaim and Dean of College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture Dr. Hamza bin Ahmed Ghulman.
During the meeting, Dr. Al Sudais - who is the Chief Imam and Khateeb of Masjid Al Haram - asserted importance of cooperation between the UQU and the GPH, saying the meeting is envisaged to serve the visitors of the two holy mosques and to reflect the Saudi Vision 2030. He praised efforts exerted in this regard by President of Umm Al Qura University Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas and Dr. Ghulman, the Dean of Engineering College.
For his part, GPH's deputy chief said the presidency is keen on brining experience to the university and maximizing benefits of every activity held there. Underlining the UQU students' bright future, Dr. Al-Khuzaim said Saudi Arabia needs well skilled and quick-witted work force to make the Kingdom's Vision 2030 real.
At the same meeting, Dr. Ghulman said the college-GPH discussion day is preferable as it opens direct channels of communication between the presidency and the college's staff and students. He pledged the college would never cease serving the community and the holy mosque.
Al Sudais handed Dr. Ghulman a memorial shield from the presidency on the occasion.
The meeting was attended also by Mohammed Abdullah Bajada, the GPH's Vice President and manager of the Kiswa Factory (Covering of the Kaaba).
