Dear Sisters and Brothers,,,

The Deanship of Library Affairs,,

is pleased to greet you on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The Month of Ramadan is our honorable guest, who heals the ailing hearts
In Ramadan: the heavens open, the heavenly well-groomed women (Hur) dress up in celebration
At its nights, Muslims stand praying, for Allah to accept their invocations
Oh Muslims, try hard to surrender in praying to Allah, and watch out never be oblivious

The nights of this holy month are scented with true feelings that are full with blessing and spirituality At these nights, the believers hearts hit the sky and the virtuous souls fly in the paradises of obedience. The spirits of the fasting people feel the link to the mercy and the grace of Allah that graciously cover his servants. Each year, the hearts receive this holy month with joy and pleasure. The month of Ramadan is that in which was revealed the Quran and the gates of the Fire are closed while the the satans are chained up.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “When the first night of Ramadan comes, the satans and mischievous jinns are chained up, and the gates of the Fire are closed, and none of its gates are opened. The gates of Paradise are opened and none of its gates are closed. And a caller cried out: ‘O seeker of good, proceed, O seeker of evil, stop.’ And Allah has necks (people) whom He frees (from the Fire), and that happens every day.” Narrated by the at-Tirmidhi.

In this month, there is the night of Al-Qadr in which Allah sent Quran down on the Night of Determination (the Power).

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to do carry out some rituals that include:

He used to voice intention and ordered the Muslims to follow
He used to hastens to break the fast and delay the Sahur (pre-dawn meal). The Messenger of Allah said, "People will continue to adhere to good as long as they hasten to break the Saum (fasting)." Narrated by [Al-Bukhari]

Out of his mercy, he granted concession to the traveler, sick, aged man and woman, pregnant and breastfeeding women to breakfast. The traveler shall compensate the day while the aged people, pregnant and breastfeeding women shall feed poor person per day
He also used to strive more in worship during Ramadan than he strove in any other time of the year; and he would devote himself more in the worship of Allah in the last ten nights of Ramadan than he strove in earlier part of the month.
He used to observe i'tikaf (seclusion in mosque) during the last ten days of Ramadan: in the year in which he passed away, he observed I'tikaf for twenty days.

During this period, the generosity of the Messenger of Allah waxed faster than the rain bearing wind: "The Messenger of Allah was the most generous of the men; and he was the most generous during the month of Ramadan when Jibril visited him every night and recited the Quran to him. During this period, the generosity of Messenger of Allah waxed faster than the rain bearing wind." Narrated by [Al-Bukhari]

Every Muslim has his own way in preparation to the holy month of Ramadan. Some people purify their hearts, renew intention and gear up for devotion and worship. On the other hand, some people get ready by preparing lots of foods, meals and games.

Dear brother,

Ramadan is a chance that may never returns, be ready to seize it.
