While celebrating the Third Blessed Allegiance of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques (May Allah save him!), to take over the leadership of his nation, Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) stressed that this occasion was considered to be dear to the hearts of the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). He even added that such three years marked a historic turning point not only inside Saudi Arabia but also for our Arab and Islamic nation as a whole. Therefore, he confirmed that such precious occasion should push us to evoke King Salman’s insightful vision and firm determined strategy. In other words, thanks to Allah and then to his perception and farsightedness, King Salman was able to fulfill the process of reform, renovation and development. He also could rebuild the foundations of the state according to modern standards to raise the efficiency of the national economy and diversify the sources of income. Moreover, he spared no effort to enhance development sustainability to cope with the economic changes and challenges witnessed by the regional and global arenas, through the contents of the National Saudi Vision 2030. Clearly, this was for the sake of the nation's well-being and the citizen’s welfare.
In the same context, Dr. Assas added, “The leadership of King Salman, May Allah support him, at such significant historic stage was adorned with many advantages. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques was an experienced leader, and a wise reader of the political reality. His aim was to strengthen the role and status of KSA at the continental and global levels, and to consolidate the foundations on which this State was founded. This was evident in his marvelous speeches, the last of which was given a few days ago before the Shura Council (Consultative Assembly). In this speech, the constants that KSA was founded on such as the moderate adhering to the Qur’an and Sunnah were accentuated. In addition, the speeches of King Salman explained that KSA had a political weight and strategic impact in its international and regional environment. They also clarified that the Kingdom adopted balanced policies and clear positions concerning the crucial and other issues of the Arab and Islamic nations. This was evident as King Salman affirmed the position of KSA on the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent State with Jerusalem as its capital. He also emphasized combating the scourge of corruption as it represented a barrier to the efforts of construction, reconstruction and development. Besides, he dealt clearly with all aspects and issues of domestic and foreign policy. Such issues were given the most of his attention and care, especially raising the citizen’s level of well-being, providing him with decent means of living and protecting his future and the future generations from all threats to national security and stability. This would be achieved through restructuring many ministries and government agencies in line with the Vision and its requirements, which will return the good fortune to the future and to the generations of this blessed country and its loyal people."
To conclude, Dr. Assas stated, “Personally, and on behalf of the affiliates of UQU, it is my pleasure to highly congratulate King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and his honest Crown Prince (May Allah save both of them!) on such precious occasion. May Allah, the Almighty, save the wise leadership to this nation! May He grant us and our country the blessings of permanent security, stability and prosperity!”
