The UQU's Higher Institute for Promotion of Virtues and Prevention of Vices has trained fifty-eight staff members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vices (Hai'a).
President of the Hai'a Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Sanad and President of Umm Al-Qura University Bakri bin Maatouk Bakry Assas attended the graduation ceremony which was held at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Chamber in Al-Aziziyah.
During the ceremony, Al-Sanad hailed efforts exerted by the UQU to train the Hai'a newly employed officers. "A year ago today, we celebrated our first one-year diploma for newcomers which was suggested by the Presidency of Promotion of Virtues and Prevention of Vices," he told the attendees. "We prospected the fruits and wondered how would we measure the outcomes? How would the primary results of this initiative look like?
The UQU's Higher Institute for Promotion of Virtues and Prevention of Vices and the Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University's (IMAMU) Higher Judicial Institute managed to turn the idea into practice and reality."
He stressed the 'strategic' initiative would definitely be a main part of the Hai'a.
"I'm confident that the diploma is a successful, strategic and indispensable initiative for the presidency."
The presidency received generous support from King Salman of Saudi Arabia, Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Naif and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, Al-Sanad said.
Also, he expressed thanks to President of Umm Al-Qura University Bakri bin Maatouk Bakry Assas and Dean of the Higher Institute for Promotion of Virtues and Prevention of Vices over adopting the initiative and over their hard work to reach success. He thanked academic and administrative staff members of the institute and directed his speech to the program's students who were newly employed by the Hia'a. He told them: "You are a source of pride ... and we have the right to be proud of our organization which is the first of its kind."
He underscored importance of the role played by the Hai'a officers who are equipped with the necessary education, skills and professional performance. Al-Sanad cited a verse from the holy Quran in which Allah Says: "Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah." He added that Saudi Arabia was blessed by the unmatched Presidency of Promotion of Virtues which embodies the gift bestowed upon us by Allah. Al-Sanad said the Kingdom, since its inception, was righteously guided to build an entity to promote virtue and prevent vices with special support from every King in Saudi Arabia. He called on the staff to depend on their qualifications and education to be good example in the field through the professional performance.
"You are requested to be witnesses who till the truth about success made by this training program."
President of Umm Al-Qura University Bakri bin Maatouk Bakry Assas addressed the ceremony. He welcomed the gathering and praised efforts exerted by the UQU as a beacon of knowledge and enlightenment. "Today, we are picking off ripe fruits from the cooperation between the University and the Presidency."
He said the two entities are working to achieve development of our country in accordance with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques who eyes the improvement of man's life and profession. These principles builds a true Muslim embodies tolerance of the religion and follows the steps of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Assas said.
The university's president said he eyes more cooperation with the Promotion of Virtues and Prevention of Vices to continue training with special focus on the west side of the Kingdom. "University, as a beacon of science, would keep going on to meet the scientific, knowledge and skill needs at all institutions in our homeland according to the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Saudi Vision 2030."
For his part, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Alfareeh, Dean of the Higher Institute of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vices welcomed the participants in his speech and thanked the UQU's President over efforts exerted to train newcomers. The newcomers diploma is meant to educate students and raise their awareness according to the Holy Qurana and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to maintain safety of our community and apply the true essences of Islam.
Al-Sanad handed the students their graduation certificates and received a memorial shield from the UQU's president on the occasion.
The training program depends on a number of pillars to qualify the newcomers. It focuses on the Shari`ah (Islamic laws), Discipline, Education, Field training and the Administrative Studies. The diploma is a one-year course and is divided into two semesters. The Presidency strives to improve officers' performance and qualify newcomers who should be skilled enough to conduct field service with according to the required level of efficiency.
The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vices has ordered that all new staff members have to go through intense training which is organized by the UQU's Higher Institute for Promotion of Virtues and Prevention of Vices and IMAMU Higher Judicial Institute.
