President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas launched on Monday Safar 17, 1439 H in the grand hall of Jeddah Hilton the activities of the 9th version of the Saudi Arabia's Exclusive International Design Trade Exhibition "DECOFAIR 2017", with the participation of more than 120 exhibitors representing nine main specialized sectors in Saudi Arabia and nine Arab and international countries. Present in the launching ceremony were the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Al-Sorouji, Dean of Designs College Dr. Hisham Maghrabi and a number of experts and those interested in this field.
After that, Dr. Assas toured the different pavilions of the participants in the exhibition including; the UQU College of Designs joining the exhibition in a single pavilion with a number of projects of the female students in the undergraduate and postgraduate levels of the department of Designs under the supervision of the College Deanship. He praised the participation of the female students in the exhibition and wished them all success in their future endeavors.
For his part, the Dean of Designs College Dr. Hisham Maghrabi described the participation of the college in the exhibition as the first of its type in an external exhibition and was intedned to support ideas and talents of the female students and highlight their efforts and activities indicating that the college is looking to participate in several future exhibitions and forums interested in this filed. He then lauded the attention paid by UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas and his support provided for all the activities and programs of the college.
It's worth mentioning here that the exhibition witnessed significant participation and momentum this year the thing which contributed to attracting a number of world companies to the Saudi market for the first time with the presence of sole local alliances.
The current version of the exhibition witnessed participation of a large number of companies for the first time in an endeavor to consolidate their presence in the Saudi market.
