Under the sponsorship of the Dean of the University College in Al-Qunfudhah, Dr. Yassin Al-Zobaidy, the University College (Girls section) has launched an awareness campaign for early detection of breast cancer, with the coordination of the Deanship of Academic Development and Community Service, and in partnership with the Health Affairs Directorate. The campaign was launched on Tuesday, Safar 11, 1439H, corresponding to October 31, 2017.

The campaign included participations of the medical staff of the Health Affairs Directorate who contributed to the campaign, as an educational lecture was given by one of the doctors. Afterwards, attendees and organizers of the event moved to the campaign's exhibition, which was held by the academic departments in the college. The exhibition was further enriched by the creative works and ideas of a group of active female administrators in celebration of this important day for women; leaving a positive impact on the level of awareness between students and the staff alike.

At the end of the event, Dr. Majida Abdulljalil Farhan, the acting dean of Academic Development and Community Service, granted a commemorative plaque and certificates of thanks to the Health Affairs Directorate for its active participation inside the college's girls section (the main building). For its part, the Health Affairs Directorate extended its thanks to all the deans in the college, deans of departments, and everyone who contributed to organizing and enriching of the campaign.
