President of Umm Al-Qura University(UQU), who serves also as the Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Grand Mosque Expansion Project, Dr. Bakri Bin M'atooq Bin Bakri Assas inspected on Wednesday Ramadan 19, 1438 H the headquarters of the third Saudi expansion project of the Grand Mosques at Al-Marwa area. 

Meanwhile Dr. Assas praised the support provided to the committee by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz  in order to oversee  safety requirements at the Grand Mosque and its associated elements for the sake of pilgrims' safety and comfort stressing that the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdul-Aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior ordered formation of safety subcommittee stemming from Supervisory Committee of the Grand Mosque Expansion Project and its associated elements and including members from Civil Defense, General Presidency of the Grand Mosque and Prophet Mosque to be headed by the supervisory committee by virtue of jurisdiction. He added that the committee received more than 64 notifications since the beginning of the month of Ramadan. "These notifications were addressed by the field teams at the grand mosque in an urgent manner to ensure safety and comfort of the guests of the Grand Mosque", he expounded.  

Further, Dr. Assas said that the committee engineers perform their tasks and contribute to serving guests of the grand mosques by undertaking tasks relevant to safety and professional health which intended to provide secure environment for the guests of the Grand Mosque indicating that committee includes more than 100 Saudi engineers working 24 hours a day to serve Umrah doers. Those engineers, he added were qualified and trained through 300 specialized courses to help them undertake their assigned tasks.  

For his part, the Head of the Technical Committee Dr. Faisal Wafaa said that President of Umm Al-Qura University(UQU) and the Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Grand Mosque Expansion Project, Dr. Bakri Bin M'atooq Bin Bakri Assas will organize a meeting during this visit with the members of the technical committee to discuss progress of work and will also meet with committee's engineers to be briefed about the latest works and achievements.

At the conclusion, Dr. Faisal lauded the support attached to the committee by Dr. Assas thus enabling it to serve the guests of the Grand Mosques in accordance with the services and capabilities provided by the wise leadership.
