The Mass Communication Department at the College of Social Sciences at UQU held a workshop entitled “Smear Campaigns Faced by the KSA and How to Confront Them”. The workshop was held on Tuesday, Rajab 19, 1437H, at the main hall, under the supervision of Dr. Faisal Al-Shmairi, and the organization of the graduate students of the department.
The workshop was composed of three axes; the first axis was presented by Mr. Maged Al-Sarihi who discussed smear campaigns between practice and implementation. And then, Mr. Mansour Al-Safiri presented the main models of media smear campaigns in international media channels.
In the second axis of the workshop, the contributions of the KSA to global issues have been displayed through 2 important aspects: first, the contributions of the KSA to combating terrorism, presented by Mr. Abdullah Assiri, second, the contributions of the KSA to humanitarian aid and international development, presented by Mr. Zaki Al-Hodhali.
As for the third axis, it addressed the elements of creating the mental image, through 2 parts. The first part was presented by Mr. Wessam Haggi, on creating the mental image of the KSA and means of developing it through media channels, while the second part was presented by Mr. Abdullah Al-Outaibi under the title “Foreign Media”. And then the floor was opened for discussion.
In conclusion, Dr. Muhammad Hendiyah, the Head of Mass Communication Department, extended his thanks to the graduate students for organizing this scientific workshop, and wished them continued success in their academic and professional careers.
