President of Umm Al-Qura University, Chairman of Wadi Makkah Board of Directors Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas presided over the 4th general assembly meeting of Wadi Makkah Company, in the presence of UQU Vice Presidents and Members of University Council. The meeting convened at the University Headquarters in Makkah. 

At the commencement of the meeting, Dr. Assas reviewed the agenda and listened to an elaborate presentation by CEO of Wadi Makkah Dr. Faisal bin Ahmed Al-Alaf about the achievements of the company during the last year 2016 in all fields including; transportation and crowd management, smart cities and healthcare technologies.  

The meeting also discussed topics within its agenda including; draft of the financial statements of the year 2016 and achieved profits during the last year, the achievements of the company in transferring the university innovations into products and startups amounting to 10 companies in various fields with more than 20 clients in the private and public sectors  having sales exceeding SR 15 million.

Within the same vein, Dr. Assas expressed his pleasure for holding this meeting branding it as a continuation of the past achievements and expressing his hope for more successful phase in the future.  

Further, Dr. Assas stressed that the company will continue its blessed march as part of the keenness of the wise leadership to support knowledge-based economy in our blessed country and to keep pace with the technology and knowledge era the world is currently witnessing in all fields in accordance with the Kingdom Vision 2030.

For his part, CEO of Wadi Makkah Dr. Faisal bin Ahmed Al-Alaf said that company will increase its  investment activities in the coming phase to include a number of vital fields through its affiliated companies such as Tilal Al-Namaa Real estate Investment Company, Ma'ad Al-Marifa Publishing and Distribution Company, Wadi Makkah Company for Embracing and Accelerating Business and other subsidiaries in such manner which achieves diversified income resource. He also extended his thanks to the members of the general assembly who were and still the best supporters of the company and its various activities for the confidence they entrusted on those in charge of the company and in its fruitful future which will have benefits for both the university and community.
