Vice Dean for Post Graduate Studies and Scientific Research inaugurates Exhibition

On behalf of His Excellency University Director Dr. Bakri Ibn Ma’touk Assas, Vice Dean for Post Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr Thamer Ibn Hamdan Al-Harbi inaugurated Beauty Loftiness ( 2) Exhibition, hosted by the College of Designs, in the Exhibition Hall, at the College headquarter in al-Mansour, on Wednesday20  of Rajab 1437 AH, corresponding to April 27, 2016 AD. The exhibition was attended by the Dean of the College of Designs Dr. Abdel Meguid Mahmoud Sabbagh, Deans, Vice Deans, faculty members, officials from the Industrial Chamber of Commerce in Mecca, and a gathering of the parents of the students.


Following the inauguration, Vice Dean for Post Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, accompanied by Dean of the College of Designs toured the exhibition which comprised several corners to display the products of female students of Department of Housing and Home Management. At the end of the tour, he praised the various corners of the exhibition which highlighted the creative, cognitive, perceptual, motion and theoretical skills of the female students of the Department of Housing and Home Management. His Excellency noted that such exhibitions, held in the corridors of the university, with the support of His Excellency the Director of the University, constitute a qualitative move in creativity and innovation. Moreover, it opens the field of fruitful cooperation with the labor market, represented in service and productive society institutions, so as to contribute to the provision of real job opportunities for female graduates.
Dr.Thamer Al- Harbi expressed his admiration for the high level of creativity of the students of the Department. He praised the efforts exerted to hold the exhibition by the college officials, led by the Dean of the College Dr. Abdel Meguid Mahmoud Sabbagh, male and female vice deans, chairwoman of the Department of Housing and Home Management, and male and female faculty members .
For his part, professor of the new media Dr. Osama Ibn Ghazi Al-Madani praised the exhibition, saying: “What we've seen in the corners of the exhibition of the impressive products made by our daughters’ creative and delicate hands shows the creative thinking minds which is considered the human capital for creativity and innovation, which informs the community that the delicate hands at Umm Al- Qura University are able to make a difference in the field of home design, furniture and flowers industries  ".


Moreover, Vice Dean of Undergraduate Studies Deanship and Vice Dean of College of Designs Dr. Samira Ahmad Al-Abdli inaugurated the activities of “Beauty Loftiness ( 2) Exhibition” on Wednesday 20 of Rajab 1437 AH. The inauguration was attended  by the Vice Dean of Undergraduate Studies for Academic Affairs Deanship Dr. Sheikha Ashour; Vice Dean of Deanship of University Studies for female students at  Al - Mansour headquarters Dr. Mona Hamed Mousa; Vice Dean of Educational Affairs Dr. Lina Bahidra; and Chairwoman of Department of Housing and Home Management Dr. Eman Abid Al- Rifai; as well as a group of businesswomen and employees of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Mecca and a group of faculty members .


It is worth mentioning that the exhibition comprised the products of the curriculum of (Home furnishing and decorating); which contained pieces of furniture customized for different rooms of the house, in addition to decoration supplements designed in  an innovative way following the scientific basis and merging diverse raw materials, taking into account the consistency and color harmony, under the supervision of professors of the curriculm Dr. Gawhra Al-Khiliwi, Dr. Afaf Kaburi, Dr.Intisar Al-Halabi, and Mrs. Hadeel Omran

 .
The exhibition also embraced the products of (flowers Coordination) curriculum which comprised a number of flowery formats according to different schools, used in an aesthetic form in furniture and decoration supplements to give an atmosphere of sophistication. It was under the supervision of professors of the curriclum Mrs. Laila  Gasuma, Dr.Hanadi Qamara, Mrs. Dima Bundukji, and Mrs. Tahani Fakih .


 
The products of (Design Bases) curriculum were also displayed in a special corner; which included pieces of furniture and innovative decoration supplements, employing different design elements such as points and various lines,  in addition to optical illusion and showing diverse touches under the supervision of curriculum  professors Dr. Hanan Hijazi, Dr. Hana’ Wazan, Mrs. Hanan Filmban, and Mrs. Tahani Fakih

 

 .The exhibition also comprised the products  of the curriculum of (computerized applications in specialization field). It comprised samples of the works of female students using computers to design the interior spaces of the house and to design pieces of furniture according to the bases and elements of interior design, under supervision of Dr. Ghada Nadiran and Dr. Rania Abdulrahman.


Moreover, the exhibition also comprised a corner for the products of (Hand-Printing). It comprised different exhibits produced by using traditional and modern printing, employed in an aesthetic manner on a variety of materials in an innovative way, under the supervision of professors of the curriculum Dr. Entisar al-Halabi,  Mrs. Afra’ Habibullah, and Mrs . Wala’ Gaha.
The corner of (Interior Design) curriculum also comprised various interior designs through drawing horizontal and vertical projections of residential spaces by hand-drawing,  in addition to the use of computer programs specialized in this field, under the supervision of curriculum professor Dr. Alia Mokhtar.


Concerning the corner of the products of the curriculum of (Showcase and exhibitions display), it comprised a variety of forms of innovative showcases through using design elements (color - light - line – point-clothes), in order to attract customers as a promotional aspect for the commercial products, under supervision of curriculum professors: Dr. Hanan Hijazi and Dr. Ghada Nadrin .
