As part of the training courses and development lectures held during the first semester of the academic year 1443 A.H., the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research held a training course entitled: “How to Write Research Proposals”. The course was held on Wednesday, 7 Rabi` Al-Awwal 1443 A.H., in the Research Tent at the institute’s headquarters in Aziziyah, and was presented by Dr. Khuloud bint Abdullah Al-Thubaiti, an academic staff member in the English Language Center at the College of Social Sciences. At the beginning of the course session, Dr. Khuloud was introduced and her CV was presented.
After that, Dr. Khuloud gave a brief introduction about the themes of the training course and stated the importance of improving the quality of writing research proposals in order to achieve the best results for scientific research papers.
She touched upon three significant elements when preparing a research proposal for funding, as follows: research team, funder, and governance of the scientific research. She then explained the method of writing the research proposal, starting from the main title, the research objectives, and the methodology of the research plan.
The course included various practical exercises and examples on writing a research proposal about topics related to Hajj and Umrah.
After that, Dr. Khuloud reviewed the most recently published references on how to write research proposals.
At the end of the course session, she answered the questions posed by the participants and listened to their enriching contributions. Finally, the Dean of the Institute honored and thanked Dr. Khuloud for this valuable lecture and her excellent presentation.
