His Excellency the Dean of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, Dr. Turki bin Sulaiman Al-Amr, today, Wednesday, 29 Safar 1443 A.H., opened the first meeting of a series of training courses and development lectures for the institute’s employees, in the research tent at the institute’s headquarters in Aziziyah. The opening lecture entitled, "Crowd Management Simulation", was delivered by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Noor Hawsawi, a faculty member in the Information and Scientific Services Department at the institute who specializes in modeling and simulation in crowd movement.
In the lecture, he mentioned the most important simulation models in crowd management that are used globally. He then went over the most important challenges in modeling to simulate the movement of crowds, focusing on the importance of conducting real experiments to extract the right paths in crowd management. He reviewed the vision, mission and objectives of the Crowd Unit that will be established at the institute and in which past and present experiences will be integrated. He also touched on the great prospects in the future for the unit to achieve the best solutions and results in crowd management in order to serve the pilgrims, Allah willing.
