Umm Al-Qura University distributed the vehicular traffic at the university’s headquarters in Al-Abdiyyah over three gates. The distribution concerns all university bodies: colleges, deanships, and departments, in addition to student and faculty housing, to maintain the smooth flow of vehicles on campus. This was to manage crowds during working hours to ensure the safety of university employees and visitors.
The university designated gate 1 for entry of vehicles heading to (the university president’s office, medical colleges' halls and laboratories, the University Hospital, University Dental Hospital, Center of Specialized Clinics, King Abdulaziz Historical Hall, King Saud Hall, King Faisal Hall, consulting office of the Project Administration, faculty housing, and housing administration). Exit of the vehicles of these bodies is through gate 2 or 3.
The university specified gates 2 and 3 for entry to the following colleges (Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, Engineering and Islamic Architecture, Applied Sciences, Business Administration, Arabic Language, Computer and Information Systems, Judicial Studies and Regulations (hall 4), Designs, the Deanship of Admission and Registration, the Deanship of Student Affairs, the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies, the Deanship of the Preparatory Year (hall 1), building of hall 2 and hall 3, general administration building, the computer building, English Language Center, the mosque, and university restaurant.) The exit of the vehicles from these locations is through gates 1 or 2.
Gates 2 and 3 will be for the entry of the following colleges (Education, Social Sciences, Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion, Islamic Economic and Financial Sciences (hall 5), building of hall 6, the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, the Deanship of Library Affairs, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz University Library, Media and Conference Center, Institute of Scientific Research and Revival of the Islamic Heritage, and the dormitory.) The exit path for the vehicles of these locations is through gates 1 or 2.
The General Supervisor of the Project Administration, Prof. Muhammad Al-Hazmi, stressed the university's keenness, represented by the Project Administration, and in cooperation with the University Safety and Security Department, on regulating traffic at the beginning of the new academic year, according to the locations of the authorities and how close they are to the gates. He noted the importance of defining the path of vehicles and including it within the safety regulations, to ensure a safe learning environment and receive the students and affiliates' attendance in person, starting with the gates and continuing up to the classrooms. He called on everyone to be committed and cooperative in implementing the plans and procedures for the traffic flow.
