The UQU Advisory Committee Discusses Return to Campus Procedures at Its Third Meeting in the Academic Year 1442 A.H.

The Permanent Higher Advisory Committee for the Deans of Umm Al-Qura University held its third meeting for the academic year 1442 A.H today at King Faisal Hall in Al-Abdiyyah. The meeting was headed by the University President, Prof. Moaddi bin Muhammad Aal Madh-hab, attended by the UQU vice presidents, and deans and vice deans of the colleges and institutes, and was held with the aim to discuss the plans for the new academic year 1443 A.H. and the preparation of the university's headquarters to ensure the safety of the staff and visitors.

The University President opened the meeting by congratulating the members of the committee on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. Moreover, he expressed his thanks and appreciation for the former deans and their work during their tenures, lauding their exceptional efforts in managing the administrative work and their continuous follow-up on the distance education process. He also commended their keenness to harness the staff's skills and empower them to keep abreast with the latest developments and work with high professionalism.

During the meeting, the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Amer Al-Zaidi, talked about the procedures of the safe return to campus for the next academic year and the university’s preparations to create and foster an apt educational environment for the students. He also underlined that the facilities and classrooms are well-prepared, in accordance with the applicable health protocols, and early registration has been allowed to ensure a smooth and safe return of the affiliates to campus, which contributes to reducing overcrowding and gatherings within the university’s premises. He also discussed following up on the vaccination of the academic and administrative staff and students, in implementation of the directives issued by the higher authority to prevent the entry of non-vaccinated people into educational facilities as of 22 Dhul-Hijjah 1442 A.H.

In his turn, the UQU Vice President, Prof. Farid Al-Ghamdi, talked about the plans and policies adopted by the university to achieve spending efficiency and the steps taken to enable all parties to develop effective solutions to optimize and smooth consumption. He also mentioned the implementation of the institutional initiatives that contribute to raising the rates of the utilization of the university’s resources and investments. The initiatives ensure high quality planning in accordance with performance indicators and standards that are compatible with the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030, as part of the Finance Sustainability Program.
