His Excellency the Acting Minister of Media, Dr. Majed Al-Qasabi, stressed the importance of achieving integrity among the various sectors participating in the work related to Hajj and Umrah and of harnessing their human cadres and capabilities in serving the religion and the nation. In addition, Dr. Majed outlined the importance of creating integrated media that aims to highlight the efforts exerted by the Saudi Kingdom in mass media, within the framework of joint national work that stimulates innovation and stirs determination. This is in order to gain the honor and privilege of serving the Two Holy Mosques and the Sacred Sites.
This statement came during the visit paid by the Minister of Media and the delegation accompanying him to the headquarters of the Media Center of the Saudi Press Agency at Umm Al-Qura University during the Hajj season (1442 A.H.). The visit aimed to review the technical and media-related preparations required for the media coverage of the Hajj journey. It is noteworthy that the Minister of Media was received by a number of the leaders of Umm Al-Qura University.
During his meeting with the leaders of the university, the Minister of Media stated: “Your deeply-rooted experience lies in the determination of the youth of our country. I am striving with you to upgrade the status of our religion and to serve our nation; it is our duty to strive to achieve excellence for the sake of our nation. In addition, it is your duty towards us that we work together enthusiastically to spread our media-related mission, at the international level, in an advanced and innovative manner. This mission should reflect the tolerance of our religion, which is highlighted by the rituals of Hajj as well as the efforts exerted by our country in developing the Hajj and Umrah projects and enhancing the experience of the guests of Al-Rahman.”
His Excellency the Minister of Media published news about the 21st Scientific Forum on Hajj and Umrah Research on the official website of the Saudi Press Agency. The forum, which is being held under the slogan of “Digital Transformation in the Hajj, Umrah and Visit System”, has been organized by Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (may Allah safeguard him).
The UQU President, Prof. Moaddi bin Muhammad Aal Madh-hab, via a phone call, welcomed the visit of the Minister of Media to Umm Al-Qura University. In addition, the UQU President asserted that the university is keen to support the efforts exerted by the relevant sectors with its knowledge and technical capabilities and has made preparations to provide the convenient environment in order to facilitate media coverage. The UQU President also praised the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Media and the university to serve the religion and the nation and to disseminate the spirituality of the rituals of Hajj, at the local and international levels.
The UQU Vice President for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Ali Al-Shairi, noted that at the beginning of every academic year the university renews its efforts to strive to refine the cognitive skills of the students and to encourage them to achieve continuous innovation and development in order to intensify their participation in different fields. Moreover, the academic staff members contribute to offering consultation that serves the Hajj and Umrah system and develops the technical procedures used in managing the crowds and helping the pilgrims perform the rituals.
The Dean of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, Dr. Turki Al-Amro, stressed the role that the institute provides in supporting the Hajj and Umrah system with development research and studies, under the follow-up and supervision of the Minister of Interior, His Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif. In addition, the institute has the honor to organize the Scientific Forum for Hajj and Umrah Research every year with the aim of enriching the journey of the pilgrims and upgrading the level of services provided to them.
The General Supervisor of the General Administration of Institutional Communication, Dr. Fuad Buqas, outlined that the rituals of Hajj are performed by the pilgrims on specific days in the same geographical environment. Therefore, the relevant sectors should work in a harmonious and continuous manner to unify their efforts and offer the necessary services in an optimum manner. Dr. Fuad added that this duty should be undertaken especially by the media sector, as it conveys its messages at the international level. Dr. Fuad also noted that the relevant bodies should work in a harmonious manner to create media related to Hajj and Umrah, which should have the same traits, message, and strategic goals. The aim of this is to achieve the objectives sought by the Saudi Kingdom and to convey them to the entire world.
