The Standing Committee for Training and Scholarships held its 13th meeting for the academic year 1437/1438H on Wednesday, Rajab 22, 1438H. Convened by the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Thamer bin Hemdan al-Harbi, the meeting was attended by the Supervisor General of Scholarships, Dr. Ahmed bin Youssef Barqawi, and all other committee members. 

The committee secretary, Mr. Wael Abdulraziq Shaldoom, stated that topics on the agenda were discussed, came up with appropriate recommendations.

Recommendations were put forth concerning all topics on the agenda:

1-    Number of persons whose grants were approved: 10 TAs and lecturers. 
2-    Number of persons whose grants were terminated: 6 persons
3-    Number of persons whose academic trip requests were approved: 4 persons.
4-    Number of persons on scholarships whose requests to change university were approved: 5 persons
5-    Number of persons on scholarship whose requests to change specialty were approved: 3 persons
6-    Number of persons on scholarships whose requests to change scholarship places were approved: 1person
7-    Number of persons on scholarships whose requests to extend PhD scholarships were approved: 11 persons
8-    Number of persons on scholarships whose requests to extend MSc scholarships were approved: 6 persons
9-    Number of persons on scholarships whose requests to extend language courses were approved: 4 persons
10-    Number of persons on scholarships whose requests to extend fellowships were approved: 1 person
11-    Number of persons whose request for upgrading scholarships were approved: I person.
