On the occasion of celebrating the World Arabic Language Day, Dr. Jamal Turki Abu Na`aj delivered a lecture entitled: "The Child's Language and Artificial Intelligence", which tackled the two following general themes:
- The first was the reality of the child's language, as well as its features and acquisition factors, which can be summarized as innate readiness and cognitive experiences. This theme also included the importance of communicating with parents and the surrounding environment to develop skills in Classical Arabic.
- The second is artificial intelligence and its applications in various fields, especially in learning Classical Arabic, on the one hand, and in the correction of speech defects in children, on the other, such correction being performed using specialized software in which scientists of relevant fields have contributed (such as computers and software, sociology, psychology, and language).
The lecture was moderated by Dr. Adil Ibrahim, and was attended by His Excellency the Vice Dean, Dr. Hadi Al-Samdani, Their Excellencies the Heads of the Departments: Dr. Ali Al-Hassani, Dr. Walid Abu Al-Nil, and Mr. Ahmad Bamahram; and a number of colleagues, including Their Excellencies Dr. Ahmad Al-Jindi and Dr. Samir, in addition to a large number of the students of the Department of Arabic Language.
