The Department of Arabic Language held a course on Tuesday, 22 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1441 A.H., entitled: "The Art of Diction". The course was delivered by Dr. Jamal bin Turki Abu Al-Niaaj, and covered the following objectives:

• Definition of the terms related to the art of diction, and its techniques, importance, fields, aims, as well as the factors affecting it.
• Characteristics of the human voice, and identifying the strengths and weaknesses in it.
• Expressive energies and phonetic turning points in poetic and prose literary texts.
• Text applications for the art of diction and its techniques.

* Thirty-one students from different departments and a number of academic members attended the course.
